About Us

Fantastically freaky and scary stylish shirts don’t just make themselves. Read on to learn the tale of ATOMIC COTTON!

Humble beginnings…

We are two horror nerds, Erica and Zack, who met and got married. The money gifted at our wedding went to the OBVIOUS purchase of a small screen printing setup. Erica has a degree in Graphic Design, while Zack has owned several businesses over the years. The goal was simple, print awesome shirts that we wanted to wear. How big a business that would turn into? Time would tell!

Horror Conventions...

Just like all of you, we are fans first! The first convention we attended as fans was Texas Frightmare Weekend 2009. We were hungry for fresh artwork, prints, posters, and collectables to add to our personal collections. But were not seeing SHIRTS that demanded a home on our torsos and closets. After 2 years of attending conventions as fans, we decided to take a chance at the newly started Crypticon Kansas City 2011! We picked a couple of the horror guests and Erica designed a shirt for them. Originally, we were thinking we could print for the celeb, and they would possibly sell those shirts at their table. Then something even cooler happened! Horror icon Bill Mosely took some of the shirts we made for him and he gave them to the promoters of the show. Those promoters called us, and invited us to their next show. So, with that BOOM our art found an audience and Atomic Cotton was born!

For Fans by Fans…

We are fans first, so everything that we design, print, and put out there has a personal touch on it.  We are a husband and wife team, and also the ENTIRE full-time staff for Atomic Cotton. Yes, just the two of us!  Zack carefully and skillfully prints every shirt that is shipped out to you. Erica artisanally designs and lovingly ships all of those shirts to you. We also take the opportunity to promote and brag on our rad friends! We have guest artists coming in all of the time to make cool art with us and put it on badass t-shirts for you! This part of what we do is very important to us. Art is not an easy gig, everybody helping everybody works really well for us. There is just so much amazing art and fantastic folks out there, we feel like we have to do our part to make sure our artist friends are seen and appreciated.

Pandemic Blues…

When the pandemic started, our world was turned upside down. Our primary income had been shut off overnight. We struggled through, and we realized that something had to change, and we needed to adjust our focus to cater to more online as conventions became very hard to come by and the uncertainty of the future tells us we need to focus our efforts here at Atomic Cotton.

Right now…

We have revamped our website and are working with a team of experts to get our product in front of your eyeballs.  We will be updating all of you more frequently on social media, via text, through email or wherever we can grab your attention! We look forward to making many more awesome designs for you and we have so very much more in store!
